1. Bangkok City Pillar Shrine 

ศาลหลักเมือง

OPEN 6:30 - 18:30

 There is a pillar believed to have mysterious power as the birthplace of Bangkok.  Built in 1782 by King Rama I.  The current pillar was rebuilt by Rama IV.  0.76m in diameter and 2.73m in height using "Golden Shower" wood. It is said that wishes come true when you visit the temple.

2. Giant Swing 

เสาชิงช้า

 A pillar of a large swing of 21m in height made of total teak wood, which was built prior to the construction of the temple to dedicate to the Hindu god "siva".  Until 1935, every February in the lunar calendar, four brahmin priests rode on a boat-like vehicle hung here, and the ropes were swayed until the ropes were parallel to the ground.  Due to the high number of accidents, this event was abolished.  The current pillar is new in 2007.

3. Chao Pho Suea Shrine 

ศาลเจ้าพ่อเสือ

OPEN 6:00 - 17:00

 A shrine that enshrines a tiger who has been martyred for the death of its owner.  There are many Chinese worshipers.  There are tiger elephants on both sides of the entrance.  There was a fire in this area in the past, but since this area was left unburned, It gained a lot of faith.  It is said that offering 18 pairs of incense sticks and a pair of red candles in order will have the benefit of speeding up your career.

4. Mahakan Fort 

ป้อมมหากาฬ

 One of the 14 forts built during King Rama I period.  Unfortunately it is not allowed to enter the inside.  It is illuminated at night with Wat Saket.

5. Phra Sumen Fort 

ป้อมพระสุเมรุ

 The inside of the Banglamphu canal was the birthplace of Bangkok, and this canal was the last line of defense.  The fort was built here because the branch point of the canal was military importance.  The perimeter of the fort is now Santi Chai Prakan Public Park.

6. Erawan Shrine 

เอราวัณ

OPEN 8:00 - 22:30

 Hindu shrine built in 1953.  It was built as a safety prayer when the Erawan Hotel was constructed.  Known as a "god who fulfills wishes", many locals and tourists visit to worship.

7. Wichai Prasit Fort 

ป้อมวิไชยประสิทธิ์

 A fort that was set up at the entrance to the Bangkok Yai Canal along the Chao Phraya River to protect Bangkok from foreign threats.  Completed in 1687.  Although it is not open to the public, its appearance can be seen from the opposite bank.

8. Tiger Market Shrine 

ศาลเจ้าพ่อเสือ

 The shrine dedicated to tigers in Thonburi area.  The local people seems to visit the temple mainly.
